Pound Cakes & Conversation #ExitPlan

Pain 2 Purpose held their 1st Pound Cakes & Conversation 10/29 at Jackson South Hospital. Our main goal was to discuss why an exit plan is important for victims in abusive relationships.  The event was great and it helped for people to gain insight on what someone who is in an abusive relationship goes through during and even after leaving that relationship. We were honored to have Lt. Farrel Owens of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Unit to sit with us and answer a lot of questions from a police officer's perspective. Thank you LIEUTENANT! We also heard from a recent survivor who found her courage to leave her relationship with ber 3 children. She explained why she stayed and why she finally decided to leave. There were other testimonies given that day as well. Thank you all who attended!
